RE the City Charter Revisions -- which - I subscribed to but cannot comment on. First and foremost -- you cannot do Charter Revision meetings in summer, because a lot of people are away on vacation or going away on vacation. IF you are revising the Charter, there should be a provision that says landlords cannot keep a business space rental open for longer than 4 months just to gain some kind of tax write off, or to make renting that space unaffordable. Revision should also include a way for a Million Trees initiative to have a way for individuals to buy a tree to plant and have a plaque installed in memory of someone or to mark something. Revision should have public service announcements on TV and radio and social media that EDUCATE people about how little things they do contribute to climate change acceleration and educate them on how to change their habits. Revision should educate people on how government BUDGETS are used: that it includes everything from picking up their massive amounts of trash, to pay salaries for the hard working Sanitation Department, upkeep of vehicles, etc; that the budget includes the same for police and fire departments; that parks department workers and their salaries and vehicles and the upkeep for the parks they swim at, play in, walk their dogs in and ride their bikes in - is linked to taxes and they should not be griping about paying a fair share of taxes. That's what I'd like to say to the Charter Revision committee, but can't comment on on those sites.

12:11 the real reason for so many drivers roaming around in NYC is because Uber is manipulating the market. They lock out the drivers from their app in order to manipulate the NYC regulated market by TLC. TLC is doing NOTHING about Uber and Lyft manipulating the rules that TLC set in place. Uber wants to have as many drivers online as possible (because then the waiting times would be lower and the app and riders would benefit from it) but the real reason they lock out drivers is to avoid paying fines for not meeting the Utilization Rate metric. Uber is manipulating the number report on this metric by not letting the drivers log in when they want to. As the regulation from TLC was established considered that the drivers have fully freedom of their schedule as Independent Contractor, this change on the app by Uber simply puts the Utilization Rate of TLC useless, and loses it's efficiency at all. This is due to the apps being able to decide when and for how long the drivers should log in. Based on that, they can set the Utilization Rate metric pretty much at the number that they desire. I would like to ask Meera another question about the topic. TLC is well aware of this and has not been regulated yet. Also Uber's prices are exhorbitant and they are profitting from traffic and from peak times by overcharging customers and underpaying drivers. I believe the apps shouldn't be allowed to manipulate metrics and manipulate the industry volume, all by greedy selfish businesses practices such as Exhorbitant Pricing Peak-Time Pricing Structure and by locking out drivers. Very interesting also how the Mayor quickly jumped in and diffused the controversial topic.
